Queries regarding E Recruitment.

Hi Experts

I am new to E recruitment module, so pls bear with me.

We are going to implement E recruitment module. We have all the components required for implementation.

My Questions are as follows

1. We have an HCM server, the usage of which is just 10% by the Customers. So is it better to use the same server for E recruitment installation or to get a standalone server for E Recruitment ??

2. We have XI integration done for integration of other systems with HCM system. So in this scenario what is the best practice for integration of E recruitment server and HCM server? with or without XI? (i am new to XI concept)

3. If we want to publish the jobs on external sites, what are we supposed to do? should we just publish the links or does it need any integration to be done?

Please help

Thanks in advance

Asha

Hi asha,

for question one:

Use a standalone installation. It has less restrictions in usage and is the better scenario for security.

for question two:

Usually you use ALE to bring the employee information from HR server to the e-recruiting standalone installation. There is probably also a way to replace this using XI but I have never seen it in production. The other way to bring the hiring information from e-recruiting to the hr server can be done by XI or direct RFC connect. So far I have seen only RFC here as other functions like checking vacancy for a position also use a direct RFC connect.

If you have a strict XI everywhere strategy it is possible to use. From my experience only few customers have such a strong XI strategy and if they use XI at all it is mostly far away from HR. Another issue here is that either direct RFC and XI are push solutions where data is send to a more secure network area, so if companies invest here it is more likely they invest in rebuilding the interface to pull than into XI technology.

for question three:

For your external career portal you can use the in standard applications or a customer solution to integrate the links (e.g. for CI purposes). The job board integration (monster, stepstone, jobstairs, ...) is usually depending on the job board you use. There is the HRXML initiative which includes a general data exchange also to job boards but from my experience not all boards use it or they use different releases. So you usually end with single negociation with each board.

There are different solutions for the exchange you can mail textfiles or xml which are automatically or by hand posted in the board or you just store files on a webaccessable file share and the job board is reading from there every day. To create the files for the boards you can use XI or customer developments. For some regions and boards there are also add ons you can buy.

Best regards

Roman

If you use an integrated setup (no standalone) you don't need an interface.

I find this the easier solution...
