Got high run time for PLSRV_MAPPING_REQUEST pipeline step in SAP PI for the interface using integration process. the system is single stack(Java).

I know this is kinda basic, but since there's so little contribution right now on this community, this at least might help a bit:
Try getting your hands on XPI Inspector, see https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1514898/E. This might help a bit.
Apart from that there's this excellent but lengthy document on troubleshooting performance issues on PI: http://sapassets.edgesuite.net/sapcom/docs/2015/08/98d0c1e9-557c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa.pdf (look especially for section 4.4.2)
