hi

1. Please check your network ( check serevr ip is ping or not in ur system)

2. Give correct Application Server Name and SID , System No.(Application Server Name: try Host name or IP address)

3. First you can check Server is Active or Not

Hi,

Pls check the services file on your PC to find the following entry,

sapdp03 3203/tcp

If it does not exist then create the same and try again.

If it exists and you still have the same error, you can try deleting the entry from your logon pad and recreating the same.

After all please check if your network connectivity is OK.

Thanks,

Suman.

actually it is with db2 database. sap services are started with startsap command but no idea about database related command.

command which run in oracle not executing in db2. Is it the problem ? if yes please help.

SAPgui has nothing to do with the database type whether it is DB2 or it is Oracle.

If SAP is up, then 'SAP services' and the 'database' are obviously up !

Is SAP up and running ? Verify it via OS level.

However, in DB2, db2start and db2stop are the commands to start/stop DB2 instance. But, startsap and stopsap commands include both the SAP instance and the database instance.

In services file, do you have the following entry ?

sapms<SID> (tab is to be pressed here) 36<instance number)/tcp

like, sapmsADA 3602/tcp #message server SAP

If it is not there, then place it in the end and then press enter to leave last line blank in the services file.

if startsap is the only command to execute then i already have done this ...also checked service the entry is there....

but not resolved......

Jiten,

Earlier, Suman asked you about network connectivity, and you never seemed to answer directly.

Are you able to ping the server mentioned in your logon pad?

Did you check your system number is correct in the logon pad?

Check your system is up and running from OS usig dpmon.

cd /sapmnt/<SID>/profile

dpmon pf=<instance profile name>

This will tell you your work processes are running.

Confirm this and let us know
