Can some one help me in understanding on how to attach a document on the shipment VT02N & also please tell me if there is anything that we have to do on the Customizing or development side ..................
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
You can use SAP Archive link to attach documents. The details on it are available in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/EN/5e/566039b85f9443e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
You can also use the SAP Generic Object services for attaching attachment. For shipments SAP GOS is avaiable. The details are available in

I am actually looking to attach some business documents in pdf format to the outbond shipment, so I want to know how I can do that on a shipment screen and also want to know if I need to do any customizing stuff to make that work.
May be this will give you clear idea on what I need.
Thanks for your reply...
Yes exactly I'm trying to attach BOL documents in PDF format on to the shipemnt and I dont know the series of steps I have to follow in order to attach those documents so my question is
1. Do I need to do any config to attach those documents, if your answer is YES I want to know how to do that ?
&
2. Do I need a developer help to do this task?
And this is something that we are doing it for the first time for the shipemnts so may be I need to create a new document type to track these documents in future but I dont know how to configure them if you can help me with that that would be great.

You can use SAP Archivelink or Generic Object services to link the BOL to the shipment.
For SAP Archvielink
http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCSRVARL/BCSRVARL.pdf
For Generic object services

Hope this helps
Hello,
You can attach PDF format document to Shipment using GOS.
Normally if the SAP system is not connected to Archive Server this attachment is stored in table SOFFCONT1.
Storing attachments in SOFFCONT1 table will not require further configuration as SAP has already provided functionality to store attachments in this table.
If Archive infrastructure is in place connected to your SAP system then you can use Document Archiving concept for storing your PDF docks to your shipment. This will help you to better managment of documents.
Document Archiving implementation require complete configuration of ArchiveLink.
I would suggest you to go through very useful link that is provided by Suji Thampi in trail massage.
Hope this message will help.
Thanks,
Ajay
