PowerDesigner: Move Model Between Repository Branch

Former Member

I'm working in a PowerDesigner 16.5 environment, where I have a single repository that contains two separate branches. We are to move our models from branch A to branch B.

It is easy to move models between folders, but it has proven tricky to move them from one branch to another branch. This is theoretically possible to achieve through the Integrate function, but this makes PowerDesigner unresponsive. This will also miss old versions. I'm looking for a solution that copies the entire version history, or a confirmation that doesn't exist.

Hi,

In regards to PowerDesigner unresponsive, i can’t help you, because we have the French version, PowerAMC 16.5.5.1 and we use the integrate function to copy the models from one branch to another branch without having major problems. You should create an incident to SAP.

Regarding the miss old versions, I do not understand why you mention that. When you query the version history of a model, it allows you to see all versions as well as the branches to which the model has been integrated.

I agree, the repository holds "the entire version history" for a model, branches don't need to.
