GRC CUP - Custom field for User Group

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and this is my first thread.

I configured a new custom field for User Group in GRC CUP . while configuring I selected * (Mandatory ) for User Group field. But it is allowing the request (change / New Account )without filling of this mandatory filed. It is not prompting any message too.

I appreciate your suggestion on this.

Ram,

If you configured custom field as mandatory then CUP will not allow you to submit request without some value in custom field.

Are you going through the request access page (available from the main page of CUP) or are you submitting request from the approver view? Use the end user request form which is available on the request access page and check if it is giving you message for the custom field or not.

Actaully I tried to submit request from approver view.

Now I checked End user Request access page. I dont find User Group (custom) field in Request access page too.

Ram,

If you created the field then it must be there. It is usually at the bottom of the end user request form. I was 100% sure that you are using approver request form.

Sorry, I am not cleat actually this is Developement system. Just for your clarification i am giving the details below

Request Access ---Clicking this ..below Filelds only I can see

Information:

Lock Account:

Password Self-service

Change Name

Shall i need to check any thing in configuration ???? to come that custom field to Request access page.

I tested this custome field its assigning the usegroup in the sytem. But not prompting any thing in Request.

Ram,

You need to select one request type and look at the form. You are talking about links to create different requests. What kind of form did you see from approver view??? You should see almost similar form once you click on change account, new account etc. That form will contain the custom field. I will recommend you to get some training or read some materials on CUP.

Thanks for your very quick reply. You are so curious to give reply.But before replying to any thread please get clarified your self.

I clearly mentioned that I tested this field success fully. I can able to Auto provisoned of this custom field (User Group) in the system. {{ >>Create Request (Change / NEW )>> click More >> USER GROUP* >> select from Drop Down list.}}

If you dont have solution for this. please wait, I am working on this will let you know the answer once i got.

Any way thanks again for your valuble suggestion I am already reading some new documents / materials on CUP let me know if you know any thing new.

I am not at all curious to reply. I was just trying to help you. If you don't need help then it's fine. If you don't understand about finding the end user request form from request access screen then I am sorry about it.

For your reply i requested that iam not clear with your explanation and confused that you were asking me to check the initial screen of CUP .Curious to know if any possibility is there to come that custom field in initial screen. I checked the same and replied to you.

I assumed that you got the question.

I am able to find request access form from AE. ( Without finding request form how i can complete the testing ?)

OK, Ram. Click on any of the request type from request access screen (create account/new account etc) and check if you see custom field at the bottom of the page.

This is what I mentioned before and though you will get it.

I am able to see User Group. I did the same and created several requests with and with out filling the User Group.

But my question is... it is allowing me(request change / new) without filling this mandatory UserGroup* fileld. But I am not getting any error message.

Ex: if I didnt fill any other mandatory fields like : Application* Last Name* ,First Name* , E-Mail Address*...etc

It is throuwing some error message fill mandatory fields.

Application : Please select atleast one Valid Application

Correct the following errors:

Enter a valid value for "Requestor Last Name"

Enter a valid value for "Requestor First Name"

Enter a valid Requestor Email.

I need this type of messge for custom field - User Group*. This field has to fill in all new/change requests. I dont know if it is possible or not but this is my client requirement now .

Please let me know if you need any other clarification on this question.

I totally understod your requirement from the very first post. I have just tested this and CUP doesn't allow me to submit request if I do not provide any value in the mandatory cutom field when I create request from end-use request form. If I create request from approver request form then it allows me to submit request without providing any value in the custom field.

I am on SP 8. What SP are you on?

My Aplogies for all confusion. I had created all requests from Approver View only. I am unable to create request through end user Access form in DEV because Application and REquest Type fields are in disable mode. I tried to enable that fields but I can't.

We have different versions in DEV and Prod systems. Now I am working on DEV system.

In Dev : AC-CUP 5.3_07.0

in Prod : AE 5.2 SP11 - we are on SP11

Thanks alot. Its working. I just put * Mandatory for some other custom field in production and Tested.

I got the message Please select a valid XXX (custom field).
