Hi,gurus:
How many software components should be defined? What's the defination logic of the software component? Each SC each R/3 system?Or each SC each client? We can only import the idoc or RFC metedata from one client,so does that means we should define the software component by R/3 client?
Thanks in advance.
Hey,
>How many software components should be defined?
It is depends upon the Project, We can define a group as per the interacting Source/Target system.

If you have more interacting with SAP ECC you can go ahead and create seperate software component

Hi,Baladandapani ,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you tell me where we can define the group in PI7.0,does it means business group in SLD?
Another question:
If we have imported the RFC or idoc metadate from one R3 system in one software component, then can we import the metadate from the same R3 system in another software component?
Hey,

I mean the Group as - number of interfaces/object interacting with the same Source/ Target system,

Yes,

Creation of SWCV should be based on the units that are present in the organization (like one for Finance, one for HR etc).
Inter-unit interfaces can be developed within a common SWCV.
Importing of RFC/ IDOC can happen from any R3 system as long as you give the proper system details in the SWCV page in IR....one which you get when you double-click the SWCV.
For more information you can refer page-9 of this document:

Abhishek.
