Sending HTM mail attachment in ECC vs 4.7

Hi All,

We are facing issue with the email attachment send in HTM format using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 in ECC 6.0 during upgrade from 4.7.

The program builds the attachment is binary format for document type HTM. In 4.7 system, When we view the send email in SOST, the attached document is off type RAW. If you double click the attachment it will be open up in SAP editor and Once you release the mails from the system the recipients will get the HTM attachment in mail.

But in ECC 6.0 Env the same program generates the email attachment but when viewed in SOST its of type HTM. If you double click the file will not open up. Also the main issue is that when this email is released the attached document is blocked by Outlook replace it with Trojan warning attachment.

Is this because of any missing config settings for document type.

When we modified the program to build the attachment in ASCII format, it turned out to be working similar to the 4.7 and mail where received correctly. We are not recommending this approach because there are quite a few program which is facing this issue and we end up modifying all.

I was suspecting there should be a config fix this issue.

Kindly provide you valuable inputs.

Thanks

Abhi

I would recommend to search for the OSS notes and, if none applies, to send a message to SAP.

Also this doesn't look like an ABAP issue. Perhaps this question would be more appropriate for the Basis or the special Upgrade forum.

    Hi

you may check SAP note 1035644. It says

    Symptom

If you display an HTML attachment of a document in the non-control-based display (for example in transaction SO01x), the system issues the error message "The document does not exist" and the process terminates.

    Other terms

    HTM, HTML, attachment, SO01x

    Reason and Prerequisites

This problem is caused by a program error.

    Solution

The Outlook replacement with Trojan warning may be a result of your OUTLOOK security and virus scan settings and/or the HTML contents. Try to send the attachment manually to one of your outlook receipients and see what happens.

    Regards,

    Clemens
