Error : No destination storage bin to be found in storage type

When I create a transfer order during a production putaway I am getting an error No destination storage bin to be found in storage type. The error occurs only when the stock status set to blocked stock.

Hi Nagarajan

During Putaway to decide the Storage Type - system checks the parameter defined into Material master WM1 view<br />

Once Storage type decided then system checks the Putaway strategy defined for the Storage type and accordingly suggest the bin. If the Storage bin is not available in the respective Storage type then it goes by the Storage type search sequence defined in the SPRO

In your case i feel the parameter for block stock is missing from the storage type search sequence .i suggest you please go to

SPRO - IMG - Logistic execution - Warehouse managment -- Strategy -- Define storage type search

Check whether the parameter is defined there or not for block stock (refer value(" " ,"Q","S","R") in Stock category field)

Manish: Where do I see that the storage bin is created with respect to storage type? I was checking LS03N where I can see that the storage bin is created for storage section and storage bin type. Configuraiton is like below:

Storage Bin search Strategy:

(1) By storage section: Not active

(2) By Stotage Bin type - Active and the storage bin type is assigned to a storage type.

I have one storage bin available (Bulk Storage) for the selected storage Bin type BUT it is not automatically searched by the process. Material master has WM view1 with storage type indicator and there is a config for storage type search which is working good. The only issue is searching storage bin while creating TO during Goods movement, in particular Put away. Also please note that the storage bin is not hardcodes in material master).

This error happens for all the scenarios (unrestricted, blokced or when WM stock is initial or when the materrial is created first time and subject the WM movements).

When I first started this question I thought that the error happens only for Blocked status. Actually it is happening for all the scenatios when the WM stock in initial.

Hope my scenarios are clear. Thanks in advance for your help again.

Using Transaction LX03 you can check the storage bin with respect to a storage type

second point is not very clear could you please elaborate little more

Dear All,

I am facing the same problem. I am trying to remove a material from status "Q' to unrestricted and during creation of TO i ghave the same message. Stock removal strategy search is active and FIFO strategy is also active.

Are you issuing material from warehouse to production? Please check you have created bins for the production interim storage area.

Can u explain something more. Material is blocked in what level , i.e for putaway, picking . procurement etc.

I am not getting if the material is blocked, how its giving this error.

When we create a transfer order using transaction LT01, in the very first screen we'll decide where the stock needs to be posted. Following are the standard stock options available in LT01

Space: Available Stock

Q Stock in Quality Control

R Returns Stock

S Blocked Stock

When I select the first option, unrestricted stock (available stock), system searches destination storage type and relevant storage section / Bin from configuration. When I see blocked status system is able to search the storage type BUT not the storage section and bin. Material is good and it is not in the blocked status. Hope the question is clear.

Hi,

Check the following settings.

IMG-LE-WM-Strategies-Activate Storage Type Search

IMG-LE-WM-Strategies-Activate Storage Section Search

IMG-LE-WM-Strategies-Activate Storage Bin Type Search

Check whether the storage type which is getting determined TO for the Blocked stock is as per the above IMG settings.

If yes, then check whether you have defined a storage section search for the storage type automatically determined. (Also check you have defined any Storage section indicators & Check Material Master WM view storage section indicator)

Hope one of the above settings is incomplete/incorrect due to which you are getting the above error.

Another simple way of locating the exact problem is Goto Storage bin search log in the Environment tab in Menu when you create a TO.

Hi,

I agree with points put by SAP FC.

I think you have defined the right strategy by but if the system donot found empty bin or found the bin blocked for resons like

inventory is active or blocked for putaway or picking then the system will not sugest the Bin or only found the bins which are

empty.

You can see the blocked status in ls03. If you remove the block by lt06 the system will automatically suggest the bin.
