Backup Error

hi all,

Yesteday night i took online backup, there is giving error when i check backup logs overview throw DB12.

the redo log files created during the last online backup have not yet beeb archived using BRARCHIVE. they are needed for a complete recovery

Quite self-explaining, isn't ?

It's good practice to run a brarchive, when an online brbackup is completed. That's because otherwise your backup will be useless.

Maybe there was an brarchive actually, but it failed.

Anyway, when brarchive is completed successfully, the error message will be gone. So start it now!

Or maybe brarchive still is running? In this case just wait and see!

I was talking about brarchive .

An online brbackup alone will never be sufficient.

Just a guess: You ran and Online and redo log backup, and the redo log part failed. Have a look at your protocols!

Anyway, run an redo log backup (that's a brarchive alone) from DB13 now!

i take also redolog backup 2 times a day.

I still think that your last redo log backup failed.

But you may just wait; the error message will be gone as soon as there was one successful redo log backup.

basically why did i get this error. means what was the reason, when i check db13 there is not showing any error and any red mark

The message says that there wasn't a successful redo log backup after completion of online backup...

The protocols of brbackup and brarchive should tell you more about it.

when you are taking backup is it only "Online Backup" or "Online backup and Redolog backup" ?

From DB14, what is the error message for failed "Redolog" backup?
