missing depreciation area for investment support-copy of depreciation area

Hi experts,

I will soon worked with SAP ALL IN ONE - best practises.

I see that for assets, chart of depreciation has 4 depreciation areas : 1, 20, 30 and 60.

Or i need to have the 41/51. (investment)

I know that those kind of depreciation area must be copied from existing area already linked to investment. (From Sap doc: If you need a new depreciation area for managing investment support, copy an already existing depreciation area of this type.)

So, how can i copy this area from a existing chart of depreciation (ex: 0IE) to my chart of account - in other words, how can i add a new depreciation area in my existing chart of dep. by copying from another chart of dep (in which i have the depreciation area i need)?

If it is possible....

Don't know how to do it - except create a new chart of dep.

Someone could help me please?

Thank you very much for your help

Chris

    Hi,

I can give you one solution that might work.

As far i know it is not possible to create a dep area with reference to a dep area, which is not in the current COD.

Find out which COD has the dep area, that you really need it.

Create a new COD with reference to that COD and then add your normal dep areas. (1,20,30,and 60) to that new COD.

    Thanks,

    Srinu
