How to zero previous period stocks?

Hi MM gurus,

I want to activate batch management tick for existing materials which are not activated a batch management tick. To activate batch management tick it is needed to maintain zero stocks in current period and previous period.

Current period is not a problem. But how to zero previous period stocks?

Is there any way by posting a physical inventory adjustment to previous period? If so how to post a PI doc to previous period.

Please reply me ASAP.

thanks

Sandun

Go to T code MMRV, enter company code & put tick on allow postings to previous period.

Then you can issue the material puting previous period date, that will make the previous period stock zero as required by you.

You can do it with movement type 201.

Make sure that it is allowed to post to previous periods (MMRV transaction for MM- but as well in finnace needed)

if previous period stock is 50

    and current stock is 100

then you just need to do a 201 with a date from previous period for 50 and a 201 for 50 in the current period.

    but

if previous period stock is 50

    and current stock is 20

then you need to do a 202 movement in current period for 30 followed by a 201 movement for 50 previous period

    • 561 / 562 will work,

but usually you hit different account in account determination for these initial stock transfer movements.

And in my company these accounts will only be open at the time of golive and will be blocked for posting at any other time, hence i am not able to perform a 561 beyond a golive date.

      thats why I suggest 201

but you can as well use 551 / 552 movements.
