Extended withholding tax EWHT and CIN

Dear Friends,

Please explain that what is relation between extended withholding tax EWHT and CIN. Can EWHT be implemented without using CIN with all benefits of EWHT, what are benefit or functionality of CIN in terms of EWHT.

    CIN Means Country India Version, extended withholding tax(EWHT) is also part of CIN. SAP has provided the CIN for Indian legal requirement. If your implementing the EWHT in indian company your configuration is part of CIN. if your implementing the EWHT to other than indian company ther is no CIN.

    CIN consists of Indian Excise, customs, service tax, VAT and Tax Deducted at source(TDS)

    In SAP terminology EWHT is nothing but TDS.

    advantage of CIN is it supports the Indian legal requirement, when ever the changes happens through budget or notifications in excise, customs, service tax, vat and TDS, SAP has provides the solution for any legal changes.
