Hi All,

Im doing a cluster installtion on ECC 6.0 - SQL2005 , Win 2003 server and i cannot start the installtion.

I have a domain user PRDCLUSADM with which im trying to install the SAP system. The error which i get is mentioned

below

ERROR 2009-08-11 15:16:26.000

FSL-00001 System call failed. Error 53 (The network path was not found.

) in execution of system call 'NetServerGetInfo' with parameter (
XXXXX, 101), line (844) in file (synxcaccnt.cpp).

ERROR 2009-08-11 15:16:26.000

FSL-01017 Unable to check the root rights for account PRDCLUSADM. NERR=53

XXXXX is the name of the server it is trying to connect

I have checked notes but couldnt find anything relavent to this...

However one thing which i know for sure is. .. SAPINST is trying to check the user rights for PRDCLUSADM but it is trying to check in diff server and it cannot ping that server

PRDCLUSADM is active on different server

Any inputs would be of much help

Ershad Ahmed

Hi Markus,

I think you didn't read my post.

You're trying to access a share on a server that is not reachable - that is your problem.

Im sorry for the confusion but if u check this log which i pasted in the begeining of the forum

(The network path was not found in execution of system call 'NetServerGetInfo' with parameter (XXXXX, 101), line (844) in file (synxcaccnt.cpp).

From this i infer that that SAPINST is trying to check the user rights for PRDCLUSADM and PRDSQLADM from a server

XXXXX ( I removed the server name and kept XXXX )

This server does not have any users created on it and i cannot even ping it from the OS level

My users are on Different server and SAPINST should get the information from that server but it is not doing that ..

I hope i was able to clear the confusion

No - it's not trying to check the user but it's trying to access a network share (maybe your installation export is there?)

> This server does not have any users created on it and i cannot even ping it from the OS level

So I would fix that problem first.

> My users are on Different server and SAPINST should get the information from that server but it is not doing that ..

it's not trying to verify users but it's trying to access the share (
xxxxx\y)

Both the users PRDCLUSADM and PRDSQLADM are domain users .. I havent tried installing using the local user

Now I'm completely confused.

You're saying that you gave a path during the installation in sapinst and now sapinst is trying to access another server instead where you don't have access to?

Hello Markus,

Yes since this a cluster install im doing a domain installation

I tried installing with the user PRDSQLADM which we created additionally..

I get the same error with this id as well..

Since SAPINST does not use a file .. i think there is nothing i can do..

Ok

Still the question is unanswered if this is a local user. If yes, then there's no other way than creating this user on the target server also.

Hello Markus,

Thanks for your reply

The problem here is SAPINST is trying to check the user rights of PRDCLUSADM on a server where this user does not exists.

Example : I have created the user PRDCLUSADM on server XYZ , now SAPINST should check XYZ server to see if the

user has necessary authorization, however it is checking some other server where the user does not exist at all..

Im looking for a file where i can edit the server settings and allow SAPINST to check the credentials on the right server

Not sure if this is possible.

Since this is a cluster installation I assume you're installing the domain, right? If this is a local user you need to create it on the other server too.

There is no "file" - sapinst uses the Windows authentication models, not a specific server.

So... you should check the network between yours and that server? Name resolution? Firewall?
