SAP Upgrade

Dear All

We are planning to upgrade our existing SAP environment to ECC60 SR2.

The existing environment is as below:

1. ERP : SAP R/3 47 110

2. O/S : Window 2003 (32 bit)

3. Database : Oracle 9205

Target Upgrade

==============

1. ERP : SAP R/3 ECC60 SR2

2. O/S : Window 2003 (32 bit)

3. Database : Oracle 9205

3. CD/DVD used : 51032294 ERP 2005 SR2 Upgrade Master Windows Server

I have done below steps:

1. Created directory as /usr/sap/put

2. Copy the software to other directories

3. Run the prepare.bat

getting below error:

"Cannot find the upgrade package suitable for your system

on the specified dvd."

Please provide the solution

Hi Vimal

Please read the Upgrade guide -

That would be the first thing in your planning and preparation.

The database needs to be upgraded to at least 10.2..0.2

Fine tuning after DB Upgrade helps you improve on upgrade times.

Also consider an upgrade to SR3 instead of SR2 in your plan.

Perform as many rehearsals as you can ...

Though PM's would like to get things done in a jiffy ... they cannot bear with surprises when you are upgrading your Production System.

The error message posted says - you did not work with correct DVD.

Hi All

Thanks for your reply ..

I understand from both of you that ..

1. First I have to upgrade the Oracle 10.2.0.2.

2. Download the fix and apply - Request you to please provide the complete path...thanks in advance

3. Please provide correct master CD which I would use for prepare...

4. Can uncar this CDs in put directory

There is guide for Oracle upgrade as well. Pls refer it for the additional steps and procedure to be followed. U wud require the Oracle 10g media and u can get it on SMP itself.

Can you tell me the steps after oracle upgrade to start the prepare phase. ?

Pl tell me the basic steps also ...means uncar file in which dir etc..

Hi Vimal,

Did you download and put the Fix package in /usr/sap/put? It seems prepare is looking for this fix package.You can get this fix on SMP.
