Ex-post forecast not saving

Dear All,

I am trying to save the corrected history and ex-post forecast generated by DP when forecasting but it does not seem to work. I have the following settings:

• In the planning area, I have defined the key figures for forecast, corrected history, corrected forecast and ex-post forecast.

• In the forecast profile, I have defined the outlier correction method as Ex-Post Method. The forecast key figure is the same key figure used for the corrected forecast in the planning area. If I use the same KF as the forecast then it is unable to read the sales history.

• The planning book is ready for input.

Whether I generate the forecast interactively or in the background, the corrected history and ex-post forecast are not saved.

Are there any additional settings I need to make? We are using SCM 5.0.

Hi Emilie,

Your settings look OK...

Could you have a look if OSS 1087474 is relevant for you?

Which model are you using? Some models are not using ex-post (e.g linear regression or moving average).

Are the ex-post and corrected history visible in the interactive forecasting view? Can you see the forecast error (MAD and others)?

Thanks for your reply.

I had a look at the OSS note you mentioned; unfortunately it is not relevant to us.

I used the automatic model selection 1.

I can see both the corrected history and the ex-post forecast in the interactive forecasting screen, as well as the different forecast error measures.

I read again your first message: just to clarify is the forecast key figure maintain at planning area level the same than the forecast key figure in the forecast profile?

An other tought (just in case): are your ex-post and corrected history key figure initialised in the past?

Else could you try the following:

Maintain only the forecast and ex-post key figure in the planning area?

If it works add the corrected history.

Do you need a corrected forecast?

Thanks for you reply.

The forecast key figure was different in the forecast profile and the planning area, otherwise DP was not even forecasting. However, I did change it back to have the same key figure and found out why the system was not generating a forecast. Some of the key figures had the indicator "Zero Allowed" on while others didn't. After making all the KF the same, everything worked; it is forecasting and saving the ex-post forecast and corrected history.
