reg: individual/ collective number

Hi ,

Can anybody explain me about individual/collective number in MRP view of the material master with one usage . I need one example where we are using these 1- individual and 2- collective. I know for spare parts we have to use collective and for STO we have to use individual . But I need more explanation with example .

Please anybody explain me.

Individual requirements

Requirement quantities of the dependent material are stated individually.

Collective requirements

Requirement quantities of the dependent material are grouped together.

Ex:

A assembly contains A1 & A2 components.

B assembly contains A1 & A3 components

If 1 indicator is used in A & B then dependent requirements will be as under:

Req 1 for A1

Req 2 for A2

Req 3 for A1

Req 4 for A3

If 2 indicator is used then in A & B then dependent requirement will be as under:

Req 1 for A1 (total required qty will be merged in one)

Req 2 for A2

Req 3 for A3

Hi

in MRP4 -view

Say BOM for a particular product is like this

Header -- Cylinder Assy

Item wise : 1 .cylinder - 1 off

2 . nut on left hand side : -4 off

3. screw 4 off

4. Nut on right hand side -4 off

5. screw 4 off

if in the same assy the components are repeated and during the MRP run . if you check using single level run

then these nut will appear 4 off twice if you put - 1 -individual

if yo put 2 - then only 8 off will come as collective requirements
