Connection to System Landscape Directory (SLD) could not be opended success

Hi Gurus,

We are working on BI 7.0, which has an integrated portal. We had configured JCo Destinations and it was working fine. But suddenly the J2ee_admin password was reset in the morning and the JCo buttons ie., "Maintain JCo Destinations", "Create JCo Destinations" and "Start assigned SLD" in Content administrator is disabled and we have an error "Connection to System Landscape Directory (SLD) could not be opended successfully. No connection to SLD". We have restarted the server but it dint solve our purpose. Also, in J2ee server, the go.bat and configtool.bat status is "Stopped Abnormally: path not specified". Pls tell us where to check and what to do.

Hello Raghu,

Enter Visual Administrator, enter your application server node, in the services select SLD Provider (I'm not sure this is the correct name, but check for something related to SLD) there you configure the username and password to connect to SLD. You mention that the j2ee_admin was changed, this is telling me that the j2ee_admin user was also used to connect to SLD, you should create an user to access SLD only to avoid this kind of problems.

Create an user with the required SLD UME actions.

Assing that user in the SLD Provider in Visual Admin.

Check your CIM connection, if this test is passed your communication between portal and SLD wil be succesfull, you can also check the conection in the Web Dynpro Content Administrator, press the Test Connection button and it should work also.

If everithing works out, your JCO can be configured, and or used again.

Thanks for the information.

1. You said to create an User with required SLD UME actions, Can you pls tell me which are the "REQUIRED SLD UME ACTIONS"??

2. How to enter into the "Visual Admin" if we have an error in go.bat ? When we click on go.bat, we get an error as "ABNORMALLY TERMINATED".

Hi Raghu

Both Administartor and SLDUSER should be same.Try to change SLDUSER password.

Go to UME and search for SLDUSER and change it.

Hi Tulasi,

I have reset the SLDDSUSER password in Visual admin but there is still an error in SLD Data Bridge. The error is as follows :

1) Failed to send HTTP data 401: unauthorized

2) CIM Test :- Failed to generate & test CIMOMClient Object

Pls tell me what next...

Hi Raghu

Goto cluster ->got to server->services->sld Data supplier.

CIM client generation settings

Host:ip address of ep

Port:50000

user:<slduser>

Set Http Settings

Host->ip of ep

port->50000

user->j2ee_admin

and click on save.hope it wil work.

Actually we have to use j2ee_admin user id for both HTTP & CIM Client and it works well.
