    Sarathay,

Here is the link to the same. MAM is basically an application for executing Maintenace related business process on OCAASIONALLY CONNECTED CLIENTS (Handheld, Laptop..etc), developed using JAVA on the client side.Ideally this would require a MI (Mobile infrastructre) on a separate box to connect the clients with R/3/ ECC6.0. on the ECC6.0/R/3 side separate FM (Per wersion of MAM : MAM25, MAM30 ) have been created to enable to update the standars transactions and communicate the same back to the handheld. Stanadard configuration is also available to set up extraction and update of data between R/3 side and the MI server.

You should be able to find all the information in detail in the below link.

    Hope it helps.

      Srathaty,

MAM is tailored for PM/CS functionality on the SAP side. But yes, you can create your own z-tables on the MI server (Mobile Infrastructure ..Middleware).Ideally with the latest release of Netweaver Mobile 7.1 you should be able to connect to external systems(Have a different system as a backend). But from my perspective, if you are planning on NOT using SAP as the backend for any of your business process and planning on only using a different external system as the backend then MI might not be the optimal choice for your needs.

All this depends on the Business functionality that you are trying to accomplish and the mobile strategy of the client.

      Hope this helps.
