Length of Material Description

is there a way to increase the size of Material Description (now its 40 characters) in material master ?

Hi,

Max length is 40 Char only, If u want u can add in add data tab

If you change any standard feature in SAP ex: Material Code Length, Material description Length etc...

SAP AG will not support at Free of Cost, either they will refuse to support or Charge very high..

So it is better to adjust with the Standard settings/features..

in your case Define a New Item text as Material Description and use the same in the Purchasing output documents..

40 is maximum , but u can always use long text for maintaining full description

In material master the max lenght of material description is 40.we can use the 'Additional Description 'field in the material master also ;in order to include the lenghty ones.
