Some times even if the PLOGI ORGA switch is X, there are inconsitencies between PA and OM. To check these inconsitencies, you can run report RHINTE30 and RHINTE00. These report check the inconsistencies between PA and OM and if any, it will create a session. if we run the session, the data from PA to OM or vice versa is transported and they become consistent.

Payroll can process without OM but for posting to FI A011 relation is required either from position to cost centre or orgunit to cost centre. how ever PA and OM can integrate throgh PLOGI-ORGA IN T77S0

Payroll is generated based on entries in PA... IT0, 1, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, etc....
Cost Centers assigned to Units/Positiions are used while generating Payroll and used in postings to Cost/Finance,
Thre is also a concept of Position Substitution, where in salary can be processed/cost can be distributed based on the subsittution.
Thus, OM and PA are very much integrated with Payroll.
As our gurus explained, PLOGI ORGA should be maintained. PA-PY integreation is standard, these integration parts u can find thru V_t582A, and also Schema/PCRs..
