SAP ITS Mobile - terminal freeze

Hello, we have a problem with our solution based on technology SAP ITS Mobile . Aplication run on Explorer. We have a problem, that terminal Motrola MC3090 (WinCE 5.0), during the work sometimes totaly "freeze". Frozen is not only a application, but a whole terminal. The solution is only make a soft reset. The problem is more frequented, when much complicated SAP operation is practised. (HU with Mix components and similarly operations ...)

It looks that problem occurs with association with IE on Motrola MC3090 (WinCE 5.0) and SAP application . Finaly, we are not able to simulate it on test SAP system. Problem occurs only on productive SAP system

We tried to test it with Terminal Motorola MC9090, with Windows Mobile 5.0, and it works without any problems !

We use terminals Motorola MC3090, OS CE 5.0 (we try some versions DPC 1.3,1.6.,1.7.,1.8),

SAP ECC 6.0, SP16, HTTPS protocol is used. Number of terminals 80, Wifi, 5 locations.

We wrote about this problem to Motorola suport, and we got following answer.

"From the Symscript logs we can see that the problem occurs with association with IE and SAP application as you have mentioned below in this email. There is very few things, we can do, simply because neither for the SAP console nor for the IE version installed in the system we have debug tools or mechanisms how to investigate it deeper. First, I would check IE versions not working and working with the SAP (older will work) and than ask SAP for assistance, this unresponsive window will occur due to an action taken from the console. SAP should have tools for monitoring functionality and once we will know the root cause, SAP or Microsoft (or we, if it is affected by our driver, library, etc) can work on solution.u201D

Hi Michal, I know it's a one year old thread but I would like to know if you did get a solution for this situation.

We are facing the same problem with Motorola MC9000. There is no relevant message on SM21 neither on SMICM and we couldn't figure out what is wrong with our application/device.

Did someone have find any solution for this problem. We have the same problem with our MC9090 devices using WM6.1 and Pocket Browser (industrial browser). The RF units are freezing sporadicly.

Hi, I have the same issue on MC9090s running CE 5.0.

I created a remote Desktop Connection to a Win2003 Terminal Server running the Internet Explorer on the scanner - it works without any problems.

Did anyone try a different browser that doesn't base on the IE like mozilla?

I have about 400 freezes a day on 80 scanners...

Hi Michal,

Did you find a solution for this problem yet? We are facing the exact same problem with some custom build ITS applications. We are using the same devices (Motorola MC3090) and in our case there does not seem to be any consistancy in when the devices freezes either.

I would very much appreciate if you would share a solution if you found any...

Michael,

Just a thought.. have u had a look at the ICM logs ( SMICM).? This will help understand whether the web application ( Internet Service) has problems or not.

Also, it would be nice to check the timeout parameters for gateways. Did you also check on SLg1? Are there any dumps in the SAP system or any updates in sm11 pending?
