USR/SAP folder got corrupted

Hi Team

We have ECC 6.0 EHP4 running on on SQL Server 2008. All of sudden our /usr/sap/SID folder got corrupt and SAP not working where as DB is up and running. I would like to scrap existing /usr/sap/sid folder and install SAP PAS again using SWPM with same SID on existing database. Am i correct with my approach ? Please let me know your valuable views.

Thanks

Yes, the approach looks correct. You need to use the System Copy procedure. Ensure you delete the previous installation through SWPM (otherwise, you won't be able to re-use the system number)

Hi

Thanks for your answer. Do we need to use system copy method. I dont want to touch existing database. Is it possible to un install SAP using SWPM as there is no kernel nor any other folder in /usr/sap/SID ?

Thanks

With a system copy, the SWPM will re-use the existing database.

You should be able to uninstall the system even if the files are missing.
