Portal - BI Integration

Hi Gurus,

I have setup an integration between BI 7 EHP1 and Portal 7 EHP1 using both Template Installer and RSPOR_SETUP report, but I am getting this error from RSPOR_SETUP : 'Different ABAP and Java Support Packages.Combination of support packages invalid'

Compare version information of Java support package (com.sap.ip.bi classes) with ABAP support package (SAP BI)

ABAP Support Package: 3

Java Support Package: 100

Please advise what support packages I am supposed to be on both to be equivalent.

Regards

Glendah

Hi Glendah,

Configuration via report RSPOR_SETUP should not be done for SAP NetWeaver 2004s. The report has been replaced by the support desk tool. Please have a look at note 937697 and install the latest version of the tool which is attached to the note. Execute the tool and check whether there are still any configuration issues.

Best regards,

if your BI ABAP is integrated with EP(java stack). the stacks ie., support packages should be same level.

you have to refer the support package level of SAP_BW. for example say, your BI level SAP_BW is 19, then you have to upgrade the java related components for portal to the same level 19.

I dont know level 100 which one you are pointing out.

otherwise you would get java communication error and SSO problems and all.

As far as i know if ABAP system is integrated with Java, then both the support packages level should be same.

Hope this would help you more.

Hi Glendah,

You need equivalent support packages in the two systems. It might work even though they are not, but I would not recommend it!

The ABAP and JAVA has to be in the same support package stack (SPS). Check the software component SAP_BW by choosing System -> Status -> Component Information (icon) and afterwards find the equivalent SPS and JAVA stack level.

Please also take a look at SAP note 1072576 and 1055581.

SAP's own SPS information might also be helpfull:

[SAP SPS Information|https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000620973&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&]

Hope it helps.
