SAC + S/4 Hana Cloud (Live Connection) : Language issue + Connection issue

former_member511965

Hi,

I'm using SAP Analytics Cloud to access data from S4/Hana Cloud with a live connection.

I'm french, but my profile on both systems is in english (Language and Data access Language are english).

I've designed my own CDS View, and an analytical query on top of my CDS View in S/4, I've build a model in SAC using that query and designed a story.
Everything was working fine (everything was displayed in english) until last month.

Then both S/4 Hana Cloud and SAC were updated in the meantime (I didn't change the story / model) and now the material name is displayed in french in SAC. If I do a preview of the query in S/4 Hana Cloud, the material name is correctly displayed in english.

Another strange thing I figure out that might be related : previously, when creating a model using a live connection, a lot of queries were available in SAC (all the custom analytical queries, i.e. more than 100), and now only 24 of them are displayed.
Some queries that were used by models are not displayed anymore, but the models are still working (excepted the fact I've got the language issue) !

Do you have any clue on how to resolve these 2 issues ?

Regards

Yann

Yes, we just created a ticket and this note reloved the issue.

The issue concerning the language was automatically resolved with a previous release.

A new faster and better search for queries was developed in BW/4HANA 1.0 SP8 and it was also shipped with S/4HANA based on 7.53 (1809) on Premise and 7.73 cloud (1808). This new search was also adopted by SAC. The new search is also stricter on search result with respect on authorizations given in CDS. User has to ensure to have the valid authorizations on authorization object SDDLVIEW

with values

DDLNAME = YY1_*, YY9_*

DDLSRCNAME=*

ACT = *

to also see local created queries . So roles like Analytics - Query Design (SAP_BCR_CA_ANA_AQD_PC) have to be enhanced .

Sorry for the late answer, it took us some time to try to test it.

Unfortunately, this is not working since this is a Cloud solution of S/4Hana, and not a OnPrem solution.
So there is no authorization object named SDDLVIEW, and no ACT field.

So I'm still having the 2 issues :
- language issue (material name is displayed in french in SAC, but in english in S/4Hana, while all parameters are set to english)
- queries that are not visible (I'm stuck with that and cannot design new reports)

Hi Frank Klingl,

I think your answer is not working for Yann Courtets question.

"User has to ensure to have the valid authorizations on authorization object SDDLVIEW

with values

DDLNAME = YY1_*, YY9_*

DDLSRCNAME=*

ACT = *

to also see local created queries."

Yann is talking about the S/4HANA Public Cloud not about the onPrem version. In the public cloud there is absolutely no possibility to change this authorization object since it is not existing in the front end. There is also no possibility to change the field ACTV or any other fields mentioned in your answer. I appreciate your attempt to help but it is very frustrating to ask questions about S/4HANA Cloud solutions and receive answers that are valid for the onPrem version only. (Talking about own experiences)

Anyway I hope this issue will be fixed soon.

Kind Regards,

Melanie

Hi Melanie, if you are experiencing a software defect please would you be able to submit an incident to product support? that's the best way to ensure it gets resolved. Many thanks, H

Hi,

after a bit of research and asking internally, i'd like to refer you to these resources

behaviour before S/4 release 1802 https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2595552

and now this article following rel 1808 https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2686844

it sounds like an impact from the S/4 update, and i'm led to believe that technical support are already processing an incident with development.

I'm hoping to find out if there is a workaround you could consider, else we might be expecting a fix.

regards,

H

Thanks for your feedback.

My problem is exactly the one described in the note 2686844 since both my own CDS views and the standard SAP CDS Views are not visibles anymore in SAC.

The note 2595552 is related to an On Premise system and I'm working with a S/4 Hana Cloud system. But, since I checked the "Analytical" checkbox on my CDS View, I think it has the same behaviour as the "@Analytics.query: true" annotation.

Hi Yann,

thank you for your question. I'm going to have a think about this and get back to you soon.

I may need to enlist some more experienced personnel to help understand what might be the root causes .
