CUSTOMER/VENDOR NUMBER RANGES

Hii All,

I am on SAP version 4.6 C/D and have assigned internally assigned number ranges to both our Customer and Vendor Master Data.

For a particular class of Customers the system, that had been assigning numbers one after another suddenly started skiping five digits then after a time resumed normal numbering.

Similarly a particular Vendor Class randomly started skiping numbers in no particular order during Vendor creations.

What could be the cause of this erratic assignments?

Regards,

Rodgers Malumbe

Hi,

This is caused by a buffering issue. Refer to note 62077 and act accordingly.

hI,

This happens if you are maintaining the buffer for a particular number ranges. Check tcode SNRO. Here if you maintained anything in column 'No. of numbers in buffer' system will use it for buffering what has happened in your case.

Hi,

Use T. code XDN1 and XKN1 to check if number range maintained as external number range and you can check assignment to account groups through T. code OBAR and OBAS accordingly.
