CHARM and Service Desk Config post Solman 7.2 Upgrade

Dear Gurus,

We completed the upgrade from Solution manager 7.1 to 7.2.

And, our solution manager functional consultant seem to have missed the pre step of activating the content as we are using solution documentation, CHARM and service desk.

Now that the upgrade procedure and dual stack split are complete, we are now stuck at a point how to go ahead.

1. Can we just activate the content on the upgraded system and continue to perform post steps pertaining to CHARM and Service desk?

OR

2. is it that we completley lost earlier configured CHARM and service desk functionality and needs a full reconfiguration from the scratch? Do we really need to do a fresh implementation of CHARM and Service desk? Appreciate your expert opinion and thank you all in advance.

Regards,

Kiran

Hi,

Nothing prevents you from performing the Content Activation in 7.2.

You can still start transaction PREPARE_ACTIVATION, follow the procedure and then activate the content through SOLMAN_SETUP.

As long as you haven't opted out of the Content Activation, there is nothing to worry about. All of your ChaRM/ITSM content is still in tables.

Please refer to the Content Activation Guide: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/SAP+Solution+Manager+7.2+Content+Activation
