Odd Printing Problem from BO 6.5.1

Hi, I have been asked to support BO 6.5.1 users and some of them create .pdf files which don't print correctly. The heading boxes, table structures and formatting are retained but the text is replaced with random characters. The docs look fine on screen, it is only when they are printed out that the problem occurs. I am sure I have ruled out printing problems, email problems and Adobe 8.0 problems, particularly because this is only happening with pdf's from BO sent to any printer and so I feel it must be a fault with BO. Has anyone seen this before? Grateful for any advice

    Hi

It's been a while since I came aross this type of issue, however I recall it being either one of two things (I just can't remember the service packs that these issues related to, so apologies):

    1. There was a problem with the pdf generation which required a hotfix to correct. Given that Business Objects 6.5.1 isn't being supported any more, I'm not sure how you will go about obtaining a copy of the relevent HF

    2. The printer drivers installed on the server may not be compatible. This is only relevent, of course, if the users are trying to print via the server (I.e. webi or broadcast agent).

    Hope this helps
