Thanks you Lavanya for respond.
Still i have some doubts , lets take one exmaple
1 Load data into ODS
2 Activate the request
3 After success DELTA update to InfoCube.
Now, can i create one even chain for 3 steps(is this called event collector),
if yes, can i create process chain with this event chain id by using that function module.
If my understanding is wrong , please explain with example, what is event chain?.
Thank you,
CCC
Hi CCC,
There is a difference between an event chain and an event collector.
A event chain starts if a event is triggered and then processes defined events itself.
If desired it can trigger a subsequent event in case of (no )success within a certain space of time.
Contrary to this an event collector waits just for events (triggered by different processes) and then works as above.
If you triggered processes like activation of ODS, building index for cubes or rolling up aggregates within event chains, you had to create variants of required reports and to allocate them to events.
When you now use FM to convert this to process chains, process type is created by system. But standard process type for activation, deleting and creating indices and roll up
Are not used, as I experienced.
Hope this helps
Joe
