okb9 issue

Dear Experts,

In OKB9 there are a link between cost element and cost center.

In my configuration, the profit cnter field is blank.

My question is:

Where is the link between cost center and profit center in controlling area?

Is any transaction in cost center will automatically updated in its profit center?

What is the meaning if the profit center field in OKB9 is 'thick' or unthick?

Kindly advice.

HI,

1. Cost center is assigned with Profit center in Cost center master data. If, any of the cost center is not assigned with profit center, teh posted value will hit the DUMMY profit center, it is SAP standard.

2. There is no transaction to update Cost center to Profit center

3.If you tick the profit center field in OKB9, then, u need to maintain the cost center-profit center combination in the next screen. While, posting to cost element with cost object as cost center, system wil post the [posting to related profit center as well as per OKB9.

1.When you create cost center itself you will relate it to a profit center, in KS01 masret data there is a tab for profit center.

2.if the link is provided the profit centre linked will be updated.

3.I think the usage of profit centre is for generating COPA based reports.

Maybe t-code KS12 can help you to mass maintain the assignment between cost center and profit center!
