Leave: Multi level approval

Hi,

I have customized the leave application to go through multi level approval by working around the transition status. The issue is, if the requestor modifies a leave request which is currently waiting for an approval with the second level approver, the workflow does nothing but staying through put with the second level approver. The ideal thing is to terminate the exisiting workflow and to create a new workflow which start again the approval chain. Is there a method/BADI available to re-trigger the workflow for such cases?
