Eg : In Screen PA30.

First name : MANJU.M

First name : MANJU.M

Suppose I am changing the ' Start : 19.12.1975 ' for Employee Code : 10437 ,the same changes are appearing for 5748.

Kindly suggest if any customization is required,if how can i do .

Hi Dina,

Plesae correct me if I am wrong in my understanding:

Two different PERNR's 10437 and 5748 belong to the same company code and having the same name (MANJU.M)

As mentioned by one of the consultant above PERNR is the unique identity for an EE. Even if the name is same then also based on the PERNR, two differnt records will get created and they dont have any realtion between them .

As far as Infotype 0031, is concerned it is generated for EE having more than one contract assignment.

Thanks!

Hi chetan,

yes 2 different records will be there and pernr field is unique , but for these 2 employee codes Reference Personnel no is maintained so it is updating the infotype -0002,008 with same type of data.if i remove that reference personnel no then every infotype is unique.

Reference Personnel Number

Employees with more than one work contract are assigned separate personnel numbers for each contract. If you enter a personnel number, a reference is created between the current personnel number and the one you have just entered.

The system carries out the following actions automatically:

1. The references between personnel numbers are defined by Infotype 0031. Data is either added to the Infotype or a new Infotype is created for all personnel numbers linked in this way.

2. The current personnel number may have Infotype records for which the 'Copy Infotype' attribute is set in customizing. These Infotype records are copied to the newly created personnel number.

Check Infotype 0031, whether any reference personnel number is maintained. You can specify whether an Infotype should be copied or not through V_582A table in case reference between two personnel numbers is defined.

Hi Ranjith,

Thanks for guiding me . You are right i have checked the Infotype 0031 reference personnel number is maintained in both Employee code.Even in table maintenance V_T582A in change mode i checked the corresponding 0031infotype there 'Copy Infotype' attribute is in disable mode. And for infotype -0002 'Copy Infotype' attribute is checked. Now My doubt is whether this reference personnel no is automatically generated for same name or is mainitained manually. And if it is automatically generated ,individually i have to remove or i can restrict this automatically generated Ref.personnel no.

Kindly suggest me what i have to do .

with thanks,

Dina.

Hi Dina,

1. You can enter a Reference Personnel Number in the Actions Infotype (0000) when a new employee is hired through PA40. The system will automatically update the Reference Personnel Number Infotype (0031) and copy certain reference personnel number infotypes.

2. In case if you have decided to make a personnel number as a Reference Personnel Number of other personnel number after the employees are hired, you can explicitly maintain Infotype 0031.

Hi Sasi,

Even if two employees are having same name, it should not create any problem while updating any data because they have different personnel number. It is surprised. How do you change data?

Normally if you need to change any data, then go to PA30 > select your PERNR > goto particular infotype in change mode and update > save. Sine PERNR is unique key, it should not update other employee record.

Please check once again.
