BO 4.2 Launchpad+ BI Workspace loads very slowly

Hi All,

I am working on BO 4.2, SP2. We have a Customized BI work space which is assigned as launchpad homepage. It has some reports, Launchpad Modules, Navigation list etc in it.

From recent days in development environment we see this page gets loaded very slowly i.e. it takes around 5 minutes to get loaded. Also, initially when we login to launchpad, homepage stays blank and an error occurs like below when we click on the top right corner of the page. But later the page gets loaded after 5 minutes.

Also, this behavior is not experienced in the Production system. There the homepage loads with work space within a minute.

Note: Even we experience slowness while creating a new BI workspace as well.

We wanted to understand is this issue with server, is it loaded heavily? What actions can be taken to overcome this issue?

I am little skeptical on sizing as I dont have the expertise on this.

Regarding the HTTP trace and End to End traces, what tools can be used?

And also I see lot of *.trc, *.glf, *.log files in the logging directory. Can I delete them? Does this cause any issue?

To understand the behavior you need :
1. Run the sizing exercise on this environment. Since it is working in prod, which is probably has more resources - that's where the problem most likely is.
2. You need to run HTTP trace and End to End traces on the workflow to open the home page and see in the traces where the time is being spent.
