Message no. FAGL_ORG_UNITS011 Changing profit center assigned to cost centr

Hi,

I was trying to change the erroneous profit center attached to a cost center. Before changing the profit center, I changed the validity period:

From To Original 01.01.2009 31.12.9999

After changing analysis period it created 2 validity periods:

01.10.2009 31.07.2009

01.08.2009 31.12.9999

So, I open the analysis period of 01.08.2009, then change the profit center from SMPH001203 to SMPH001207. After changing, this error message appeared.

There were postings already made on this cost center but we reversed all these postings before correcting the cost center.

I need to correct the assigned profit center. I hope that you can help me on this.

Hi,

System will not allow to change the cost center during the period if any transaction(no planing/posting/reversal) happen.

You can change only for the next FY.

Another option is archive the cost center and create new.

Hi,

This error message appeared after we implemented SAP support packages to the latest available level. But prior to this, system allows us to change.

We want to retain this cost center since we observed coding for our profit/cost center.

The only postings made to this cost center was in MM - Goods Issue but we've already reversed those transactions. No other postings have made to this cost center.

What are the instances we need to check before changing the message from Error to Warning?

In addition, I checked where these error messages are defined based on SAPNotes 1057674. IMG Activities : In Controlling > General Controlling > Change Message Control > Application Area FAGL_ORG_UNITS, message number 011 or application area KO, message number 372.

From the list of application area, FAGL_ORG_UNITS does not exist. On the other hand, application area KO exists but message number 372 does not exist.

If this is the case, how can I be able to change the message from error to warning?

Could some one please advise me what need to be done to fix the above error MSG no (FAGL_ORG_UNITS011)

. I am getting the above error ans tried to change the error message as warning but with no joy.

Hi,

you have to make sure that no transaction data (actual and/or planning data) exists for the cost center in 2009. (Even zero records may not exist). You can check the relevant tables (COEP, COSP, COSS, CSSL, COKA) with the help of RKACSHOW.

Other possibility would be to convert the error message into a warning message as described in note 1057674 . However, you need to examine the possible effects that the change in profit center would have on the relevant balance sheet in FI.
