Printing Problem for the custom reports beyond 255 characters

Hello folks,

Can anyone throw some light on my requirement.. I have reports in which we are exceeding 255 characters , and hence when we try to print it is giving error message 'Couldnot determine a proper format'.

I think this message is coming because we have exceeded 255 characters and we are trying to print.

Please confirm if i am correct or wrong.....

Is there any other way is there where we can avoid this error and try to print more than 255 characters.

Please help me .

Hi,

Try creating a output device type with a format which can hold more than 255 characters and columns and then try printing.

Hi,

What Vik has told you is the only answer, the spool has a defined set of formats and if your report cannot use one of these then you will encounter the problem you describe.
