Can a single portal instance be configured to hook into two different backends?

    Hi Sandeep,

    If I understand, you question correctly, you would want to access two backend system from a single portal and yes that is possible.

    STEPS :

    1.You would have to define, the technical systems in the SLD.

    2.Under System Admin->System Config->System landscape-> Define the system for each of the backend systems.

    3.Create Alias for both systems

    Hi ,

    Yes you can access multiple backeend systems by creating the System Aliases for them.

    Hi,

    for backends such as ECC, R/3, WebDynpro: yes

    for backends to store user information: depends. LDAP: yes, ABAP: no. (better to use a CUA/ IM solution)
