Hi Kaushik,

Now I give some examples to explain very clearly.

For eg, if you have Mixer as a resource which has

got a single activity (only mixing), then

it is called Single Activity resource

If you have a resource which does both mixing and

packaging (multi activities), then it is called

Multi activity resource.

If you have a resource which is used in PPDS and

configured as single activity resource, then that

resource is called single mixed resource

If you have a resource which is used in PPDS and

configured as multi activity resource, then that

resource is called multi mixed resouces.

In SNP, normally we does rough cut planning or

bucket planning (ie not detailed planning),

resources which are used for configuring such

bucket capacities are called bucket resources.

Hope it is very clear now.

Please confirm

Hi Kaushik,

1) Only one activity can be carried out at a time in a single-activity resource.

2) Several activities can be carried out at once in a multiactivity resource.

3) The term "Mixed" is used in PPDS

4) Single mixed resources correspond to single-activity resources in PP/DS

5) Multimixed resources correspond to multiactivity resources in PP/Ds

6) Resource in Supply Network Planning, which has a quantity-oriented capacity that you can plan on a daily basis (periods or "buckets").

Salient features:-

Depending upon the scenario and module/business requirement, each resource

will be selected for use.

Resource selection also depends on the nature of work center they use at

execution level at R/3

Resource category is decided on R/3 master data of work center

In mixed resources, the capacity of individual resources are grouped and then

planned

In Single resources, each individual capacity of resource is getting planned.

Hope it is clear now.

Hello Senthil,

What I got from your reply is that Single & Mixed single resource is same i.e with single activity . Only Mixed single is applied for PP/DS & single is for SNP. Similar is the logic for multi resource .

Please correct me if I am wrong ...........

Also, I'm still not clear about the bucket resource ....can you please give some example of the same

Thanks & Regards

Kaushik
