new patches for tax calculation according to amendment in the 09-10 Budget

Hi ,

I have got the requirement to apply new patches for tax calculation according to amendment in the 09-10 Budget. I have found two notes related to this

SAP Note -1359327 and 1361644. Are these sufficient or few more modifications or patches are required.Also in Note 1361644, some maunal entries have to be done. so these to be done before the patch is apllied or can be done after the patch is applied.

We are on ECC 6.0. SP level 32.

Please guide me about the procedure

Hi Dips,

Geenerraly patches need to apply by basis team. If some variation is there in SP level, then it can be done manually.

And then you can run report to update tax. All these information you can get under that Release note in service market place.

Revert for further clarification and also mention for which country you need to update tax.

Thnks for the reply. I need for India. In the releas note it said the SP level to 46 but I read in one of the threads that minimum SP level for applying these patches should be 38. Is this relevant to ECC 6.0?

Should I ask my basis consultant to upgrde the SP level from 32 to 38 for ECC6.

Secondly, Manual entries need to be done before applying patch and also apart from the above two Notes I mentioned; any other note is required. Please explain in detail

Hi Dips,

Try to find out all necessary release notes from service market place. Then send list of release notes to Basis team. Basis team need to do impact analysis whether it is possible to apply release note or we need to do manually.

If some ateps are there to do manually, better you do it after applying patches.

I am not sure about number of release notes. Wait for other's suggestion.

hi,

Yes the minimum patch level required to apply this note is 38, as the same has been mentioned in the master note to budget changes 09-10. So you'll have to tell your basis team to update the same.

You have to apply the note first and then maintain the manual entries mentioned

Dear Dips,

1) You will have to upgrade to SP level 38. as mentioned in the response above.

2) You will have to apply the note 1361644 this includes both Source and non source code changes.

3) you will have to change atleast 5 Cross client table configs.

4) Apply the note and takle both the Transport requests to QA client for testing

Alternatively since the budget has not been passd by the Govt of India (Parliament) SAp is cautious in saying that please ask business to check with thier legal counsel for the same, that also means that we can wait for applying the same. and the same can be done when SP 46 will be released (in Mid August) you can directly upgrade to SP 46 and all the changes should be incorporated.

Try doing the same i am sure you will be able to successfully get the results in either case. In case of any problem do write back so we can help you with more details regarding the same.
