SAPEHPI end with short dump TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED

Hi:

we are in the process of upgrade our test system ECC 6.0 to EHP4,

nevertheless, after 3 hours the process fails with the short dump

TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED in the phase ACT_UPG in the shadow instance.

We have updated the memory parameter for the instance but it has been

unsucessful.

Here are the parameters I adjusted: abap/heap_area_dia and abap/heap_area_nondia.

Hi Garry,

Parameter ztta/roll_extension did the trick for me. I increased it from 2000000000 to 3000000000 and the job has not failed thusfar.

I did first increased the values of abap/heap_area_total, abap/heap_area_dia and abap/heap_area_nondia but it did not resolve the issue.

Do you have this problem on the ABAP Stack? If so, you need to increase the HEAP parameters. This helped to resolved my problem.

Hi,

Generally dum 'TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED' occurs when overall user context memory Extended + Heap is exhaused by the program executed by that user.

It also happen sometime when actual memory requirement of the program is not as much, but due to some bug with the program like some loop is executed endlessly that keep fetching data into memory.

You can find more details into the work process trace and can see the SAP Note if there is any update on particular program.
