Hello experts,

I am trying to create a text generic datasource and want to add langu and txtmd fields(so that I can map with the infoobject). But when I try to add these fields to the view, I need to give the table name/s. I searched but could not find the table names for the above. Please help, I could not find any thread on this topic.

What field in R3/ECC are you attempting to get the medium text from?

The table for Storage Bin is LAGP. I took a look and there is no text table for Storage Bin and, while this may be how our ECC envrionment is configured, there is no text associated with the Storage Bins either. There is text for Storage Bin type and that table is T303T.

Dennis,

That answered my question and assigning full points. Btw, what are the steps to know what is the table, and how to know if there attributes or texts exist? Thanks a bunch.

I created my own document, throughout the years that I've been working on SAP applications, that has tables and description on it. Whenever I need/encounter a new table I update this document. If the table isn't on the document, I go to the tcode the business uses for viewing/updating data and try to figure out through that tcode. If all else fails, I go to SE11 and do a wildcard search of the tables via description.

Whatever fields that you put into a view have to be one of the tables identified and in the join condition of the view. If these columns aren't on any of the tables that you're joining, you won't be able to add them.
