How are application server files saved in SAP.I mean what is the file extension which they are saved.

I am not sure exactly what you are asking....
let me see if this is what you are looking
In ABAP, all programs , data etc,, are stored in the database. Only runtime and its log are in the file system level
In JAVA, programs etc., are stored in the combination of file system and database.
