AUTO-EMAILING PROCESS FOR PR & PO RELEASE NOTIFICATION USING WORKFLOW.

I'm new in workflow. My client needs a process where release notification for PR & PO will go to the respective HOD/Users to release the PR/PO through a mail chain which will hit their inbox time to time as information to release the same without any time gap.

Previously as the requisitioner create PR & PO then first notification mail trigger with PR/PO no. details to mail ID of requitioner /first level to release the same at their end first. Further as soon as PR/PO to be released by first level then notification mail trigger to the mail id of next level to release the same as per release strategy/sequence in PR/PO .

Hi BIKASH,

From workflow perspective we have notification feature which sends emails to notifiy he users who have new work items in their SBWP workflow inboxes. Here are the options:

1. Report RSWUWFML2, the use of this report is quite simple and straight forward. The detailed explanation is in the report documentation (Shift+F1).

2. Extended notification: this is the recommended way because it is more flexible and customers can customize the setting based on their requirements. Note 1646056 contains a PDF attachment which details on how to use the feature.

Hope it helps.

Hi Bikash,

The workflow notification is actually a "feature" other than workflow step.

I think what you are looking for is an existing workflow template which contains a send mail step after the approval/rejection of the PO/PR.

Note 597784 - (Workflows WS00000038, WS20000075 and WS20000077) contains the information of MM standard workflows but I am not seeing any send mail steps designed.

Hi,

Just ask your local MM consultant, release procedures using sap standard workflow models is well known (also check help.sap.com). You have to use extended notificatoins for email because RSWUWFML2 is no longer supported by SAP.
