We are installing new ESS and MSS roles here. There is a need to hide some of the ESS tabs and other minor changes. Is it best to create a custom role or change the standard role? We tried creating a custom role and now having problems running standard reports; it seems to be looking for access to objects in standard roles i.e. for IAC reports. We are now thinking of switching back to standard roles and modifying the standard roles/worksets. What is the best approach in this scenario?
Thank you.
Hi,
I think that you have to follow the custom role only.
Any how it is pointing to the standards role only so better use custom role and it is not adviced to chage the modification in stadard role and it is recommended to modify in custom role only..

Thanks Gouri. We found workaround for IAC report and we are sticking to custom roles for ESS and MSS. Right now we have very limited services giving to users, but in future releases we would be enabling most of the other standard services. In general SAP best practice is it always recommended to create custom ESS/MSS roles?
Thanks
