Asset Retirement - Multiple Assets

We recently upgraded from 4.6C to 6.0. Now, when I go to transaction ABAVN, asset retirement by scrapping, and click on the Multiple Assets button, the box at the bottom of the screen appears in which you can list the assets to be retired. However, most of the icons related to that box are not active. For example:cut, paste, select all, find, etc. I'm wondering why they are no longer active. I want to copy in a long list of assets from an excel file, but the way it is now, I can only copy in 5 at a time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

Hi,

Have you tried to create a worklist using AR01, with this you can group the required assets in to one worklist and assign the required transaction (ABAVN) ot it.

Later edit the worklist with AR31.

Thanks,

Srinu

Thank you, but I'm not familiar with worklists. If you have time to go into a little more detail, great. If not, I understand.

Cynthia

The AR01 / AR31 combo seems to be the new procedure, and worked fine. Thanks!

SAP ahs once recommended not to sue that functionality as it leads to some inconsistency. you can instead use the mass retirement using the workflow method.
