BO XI 3.0 and Enterprise portal integration problem

Former Member

Hi All,

I am trying to integrate the BO XI3.0 and SAP Enterprise portal. i read the document for integration, there mentioned we have to import the com.businessobjects.pct.sappik.package.epa business package.

I found some information in sdn forum, this file is available in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Web Content\Enterprise12\SAP\iviews\import\ep folder.

In my case there is no folder with the name ".......\SAP\iviews\import\ep" only Help folder is available under \Enterprise12\.

Any solution for this,Please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,

Sridhar

Hi,

which drive did you install your BOBJ server on? Which installation option did you choose when installing the int.Kit for SAP on your server?

Hi,

can you please go to the Windows Control Panel and invoke the list of the installed programs. Select the BO XI integration for SAP solutions entry and choose to change and then modify the installation. Check if the SAP Enterprise Portal component has been installed on your system. If not, please install it.

Hi Stratos,

Thank you, i got it...and i choosen that Enterprise portal.

I have one more doubt, at the time of installtion of integration kit it's asking Desktop, server, custom.

If i choose the Desktop its giving warning as there is no crystal Report on your desktop, so i choosen Custom there i found the Enterprise portal.

Can you give me step by step procedure to install it, like

1) Business Objects Edge series installtion then

2) Integration kit on BO Server side(where edge series installed) or in client side

3) and what are the requirements..?

Please let me know......

Thanks and Regards,

Sridhar

Hi Ingo,

Thanks for your response, i seen all your blogs its good for beginners.

I have been imported the com.businessobjects.pct.sappik.package.epa i didn't get any BUSINESSOBJECTS_SAPPIK System in the portal content.

I have to create or it will create by itself....what i have to do...?

Incase of we have to create, what are the parameters i have to give for the system.

Thanks and Regards,

Sridhar

Hi,

when you imported the portal iview you need to create a new iView and you need to configure the "Crystal Enterprise" parameters for the System (configured in the Portal System landscape) that you want to leverage.

Hi,

you should be able to create a BusinessObjects Enterprise iview based on the BusinessObjects iView template and achieve viewing a report with SSO

Hi Ingo,

I tried preview from the context menu, still i am getting the same error. The main confusion is at the time of assigning the system alias SAP_BW . where we have to create.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

there are two options to preview. the context menu and the button when editing the iView. the Preview from the editor should work.
