Hi All,
We are implementing ESS/MSS on EA-HR 603, WD ESS 603, BP 1.31 for India country grouping.
Is there any standard service for Employee resignation through ESS ? I check the SAP documentation, all it says is what all the process can do the Terminate employment iview. There was no workflow documentation, or either discription about associated WD Java iView for Terminate employment.
Also, once the employee submits the resignation or in the process of seperation from HCM master data, does he have the access to ESS/MSS services in Portal ? We are more concerned about the services like Leave encashment, LTA etc.,
Any inputs in this regards would be of greatfully help. Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Anil Kumar
Unfortunately until the employee is active, he ll able to access the services, We need to delimit the access

Thank you siddharth for your inputs.
As per the [SAP documentation|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/33/72c0401b778031e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm], there is a standard service available for Terminate employment with Life and event processes for submitting the resignation through ESS. However, it doesn't explain how to enable this service or configuration related for ECC and Portal.
I understand that Life and work events is build on Componsite application framework (CAF) in SAP and I am finding it difficult to enable this Terminate employment service under ESS.
Any technical inputs would be of greatfully help. Looking forward to your kind responses.

Anil kumar
Hi Anil,
From your post I gather that once Employee submits his resignation using ESS he should not be able to see some of the services in ESS.
Certainly you need to store this information some where.
Now you can use Proxy classes in Service definition to remove the resources in Homepage area frame work.
I think above hint should be enough.
Hi Anil,
you have two options;
Use life and work events or use hcm processs and forms.

The advantage of HCM process and forms is that you can create your own forms, own workflow.
You have an option to create multi level workflows. YOu have provision to attach attachments.

Hi Pooja, Aditya,
Thanx for your valuable inputs.
I understand that Life and work events will be part of ESS wherein employee will initiate his/her resignation processes. HCM processes and forms will be part of MSS wherein manager will start the processes of resignation under his/her team.
My question would be, is there any standard workflow for both of this processes (Life workevents and HCM processes/forms) ?
If employee or manager intiated the process, would the personal action (0000) of type seperation/leaving the company run/updated in HCM ?
There is no straight forward documentation in the above links. Henceforth, I am putting up this questions. Thanks for your patience and inputs in advance.

Anil Kumar
Hello Anil,
Regarding your questions;
My question would be, is there any standard workflow for both of this processes (Life workevents and HCM processes/forms) ?
For life and work events -no ( Process is submitted to Administrator or overseer)
Based on how you had configured your process.
I suggest you to review SAP note# 929447 for further information.
For HCM Process and Forms- Yes.
Two sample process are provided for termination;
Termination (Germany) - Use workflow WS17900391
Termination (US)- Use workflow WS18900010
You can take example of these workflow and can customize your own termination process.
Go through below link;

Sample process in HCM process and Forms
If employee or manager intiated the process, would the personal action (0000) of type seperation/leaving the company run/updated in HCM ?
In the case of Life and workevents administrator is updated.
In the case of HCM process and Forms personal action will be updated. Here we have portal role for HR administrator.

Pooja
There is no termination Service available in ESS<YOu can custom develop it. Its only available in MSS as actions in PCRs
or Administrative services.
Unless he is active he ll have the access, You can ensure these requests are not processed

Thank you siddharth.
We have checked in backend by seperating an employee from HCM master data. However, he is still able to access all of the ESS services and able to raise various requests in ESS Portal.
Thinking of solution, wherein an employee submitted the resignation shouldn;'t be allowed to access certain services in ESS or raise the requests.
Please share your experiences. Looking forward to your kind responses.

Anil Kumar.
