Hi,
We are taking back up through transaction code DB13. Now we want to take up back up of this month through BRTOOLS.
we have to take off line back up. the back up has to be stored in tape.Kindly advice .

If you are planning to take a backup using BRTools, you don't want to change anything in the profile.
Before starting the backup, you need to initialize the tape (follow the menu driven brtools options).

Do u initialize tape before taking backup. use option scratch to initialization of tape. chage the device type at .sap file. path is in log file. also change the backup directory on that file.

Login to your system as sidadm and from the command promt execute BRTOOLS
Select option 4, Backup and database copy
Now select, 1 = Database backup
Choose option 2 Backup device type and enter it as TAPE
Chosse option 6 - Backup type and enter it as OFFLINE
Now, press c to continue
Again, press c to continue
Ensure that you have the tape connected to the machine and press c once again.
