JCOProxy error: Null

Hi.

We've set-up a new server (which will eventually be our PRD server) with MII and imported our applications from our DEV/TST system. When trying to connect to SAP ECC using Get List we are getting the error "JCOProxy error:Null".

The SAP system definition and user/password are correct because we connect successfully from our Dev/Tst server.

We've reloaded JCO and cleared the JCO Proxy.

Can you recommend settings, dll's, or other we should check?

Thank you!

Hi Jody,

What do you mean by reloading JCO?

If you are running an up to date support pack for NW then you don't need a separate installation of the JCO libraries. As of MII 12.0.3 + and NW SP14 the built-in JCO libraries are used.

To rule out an SAP Server alias config problem, try entering the connection info and user details on the config dialog for the JCO action block. If this works then the problem is within your server alias configuration.

Hi Jody,

I would suggest that you delete and reenter the password for the connection (in SAP Server Editor in the MII Portal). In a number of copying situations, passwords are not transmitted presumably as a security measure.

What version and service pack/build of MII are you using? If you are still using 11.5, do as Jeremy suggested. If you have a personal ID and password that works on your ERP system, I would use those credentials to test connectivity in the PRD MII system with a new MII SAP Server (build it using the SAP Server Editor).

Good luck,

Mike

Thank you for your suggestions!

Our system is now connecting properly.

Unfortunately at this point I'm not sure what cleared the error. I'm following-up with our Basis support to find out if they made any changes.

Thank you Jeremy and Mike for your suggestions.

We are at Version 12.0.2 Build(88).

I've tried your recommendations without success.

I tried re-entering the password in the SAP server editor for the alias.

Within the action block I tried connecting to our TST system using my login id.

I created a new SAP server connection and assigned the alias within the action box.

The same error occurs each time: JCOProxy error: null

Hi Jody,

Take a look at the NW logs and see if there is any more information there. At a guess (and a wild one), it is likely due to security, but I am not sure why it would be happening in NW (for MII).

You may also want to simply run your transaction and see whether the error code returns more information than simply null (also a long shot). This may possibly add additional information to the NW logs.

Good luck,

Mike

Hi Jody,

following Mike proposal, the place in the NW logs that helped me out several times is:

- start the NW Admin

- choose Monitoring - Logs and Traces

- choose Predefined view - Expert

- from the Display Log File dropdown, select "dev_rfc.trc"

- scroll down to the end (newest entries are at the bottom)

Comparing the time your error has occurred, you may find a longer error message.

Regards

Michael

Jody,

I have this same problem once.

The solution was that some SAP roles were missing to the connection user.

Are you sure that your user has all permissions needed?
