Payroll Results conversion error Upgrade 46.C to ECC6


We have encountered an unexpected issue with our pay results on upgrade to ECC6. The error message states that The requested payroll result type does not correspond to the current types for the relevant country. Anyway the 'Help' suggests that the XPRAreport RPU40ACL should have run automatically. Anyway it has been manually executed but nothing happens. Before the issue is raised with SAP has anyone else had any experiences with this problem?

    We have exactly this same problem.

    The error shows:

    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.

    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was not caught in procedure "%_GET_PERNR" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause. Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the exception would occur, the current program is terminated.

    The reason for the exception is:

    When importing the object "NIC", the component no. 24 in the dataset has a different type from the corresponding component of the target object in the program "YUH1PENH_SUDBURY".

    The data type is "P" in the dataset, but "C" in the program.

    The report program converts the payroll results for all countries.

    These payroll results are saved in cluster RX in the PCL2 file. We recommend that you create a backup copy of the PCL2 file before conversion.

    The report program has the 'Test run' parameter (this must be activated in the coding).If this parameter is flagged, no changes are made to the database. The default value is set to no database changes.

    A conversion is necessary if changes have occurred when storing the payroll results. These changes can occur if new fields are required in existing tables, or the format of the field has changed.

    Each change made during the storage of the payroll results triggers a change in the version number, which is also stored with each record, The payroll and evaluation reports can only work with records with the current version number. However, since data from the past must often be accessed, it is necessary to bring update these records so they have the same format as the current version. This is performed by this report program.

    This report program is mainly used to change old data after a release upgrade. The report program is started automatically because it is entered as an XPRA (EXECUTE PROGRAM AFTER) in the command file performing the upgrade.

    The report program assumes that the payroll data has already been converted to the 3.0/3.1 format, therefore the RPUCRxx0 XPRAS have already been run. The conversion takes place for all clusters and all clients.


    This report program only contains the general process control for the conversion for all countries and clients. To execute the conversion in a country, you will access a country-dependent subroutine pool. This subroutine pool must be first generated using the report program RPUGEN00. (For more information, see the documentation for RPUGEN00).


    The report program generates statistics relating to the conversion. These can be interpreted as follows:

    A personnel number can have several payroll results (logical records).

    Each payroll result may need several physical records for storage.

    There are several alternatives for each logical record:

    1. The record could be correctly converted

    2. The record has already been converted

    3. The record has a version number that cannot be supported

    4. An error has occurred during the conversion. A possible reason is that the existing record in the database is faulty.

    The total of items 1 - 4 gives the number of logical records.

    The data for the conversion is displayed in the statistics per client and per cluster.

    The results for clients and clusters are displayed as totals.

    The statistics are either displayed on the screen or, if the report program is running as an XPRA, using the log interface so that the user can see the results of the conversion in the transport log.
