I am using Crystal reports viewer 2008.
The viewer allows the user to save and overwrite the origiinal design report.
How can I prevent this happening without preventing the suer having the ability to save elsewhere?

John, try going to FIle -> Report Options -> Check off Read Only. Save the file now and see if the user can now edit the design.
If that doesn't work, perhaps you can set make a password protection in the report.

Place the original rpt files in a folder the user has no write permissions for.
